Told Upfront

What Can Add to Your Price — And We Tell You This Before You Book

A few things can increase your total, and every one of them is explained upfront before your container is delivered.

Weight Overages

$45–$85 / additional ton

Every container comes with a weight limit included in your flat rate. If your debris goes over that limit, we charge per ton over — typically $45–$85 per additional ton, depending on the material and the current South Yuma County landfill rate.

This is the most common surprise charge in the dumpster rental industry — and it catches Yuma homeowners more often than anywhere else because of the desert materials here. Caliche and decomposed granite are both extremely heavy. A 10-yard standard dumpster filled with caliche can hit its 2-ton weight limit before it looks even one-third full. If your project involves caliche, DG, concrete, brick, or pavers, call us first. We will tell you exactly which container keeps you under the limit.

Extra Rental Days

$25–$40 / day

Standard rental period is 7 days. Need more time? Extra days run $25–$40 per day. Contractors on multi-week job sites can set up standing accounts — call to discuss.

Mattress Disposal

$35 per mattress

$35 per mattress. This is the industry standard. It reflects the separate processing requirement at the landfill. We tell you upfront if your project is likely to include mattresses.

Freon-Containing Appliances

Removed first

Old air conditioning units and refrigerators with refrigerant still inside cannot go in a standard roll-off. Federal law — not our rule. A certified HVAC technician must remove the Freon first. In Yuma, where the extreme heat destroys AC units faster than almost anywhere in the country, this comes up constantly. If you are replacing an old unit, get the Freon removed before the container arrives. We can point you to local Yuma HVAC techs who handle this.

Trip Fee

Avoidable

If our driver arrives and cannot complete the delivery — blocked driveway, low-hanging wires, locked gate, not enough clearance — a trip fee applies. It is avoidable. When you book, we confirm the clearance requirements: 60 feet of straight-line space and 23 feet of vertical clearance. Clear the path before we arrive and there is no trip fee.

Yuma Reality Check

Why Yuma Projects Sometimes Cost More Than You Expect

Most pricing surprises in Yuma dumpster rentals come from one of three things.

Desert materials hit weight limits fast.

Caliche, decomposed granite, and concrete are not like household junk. A cubic foot of caliche weighs close to 100 pounds — more than five times what a cubic foot of furniture weighs. People fill a dumpster with desert landscaping debris, it looks half-empty, and then they hit the weight limit. This is not a scam — it is simple physics. The fix is using the lowboy container for heavy desert materials from the start.

Roof replacements generate more weight than homeowners expect.

Asphalt shingles weigh 250 to 500 pounds per square (a 10×10 foot area). A standard Yuma home with a 2,000 sq ft roof has around 20 to 25 squares of shingles. That is 5,000 to 12,500 pounds of material. A 20-yard dumpster with a 3-ton (6,000 lb) limit handles most Yuma single-layer roof tear-offs comfortably. Two-layer tear-offs or large homes should step up to a 30-yard.

Emergency timing costs more than scheduled delivery.

Monsoon season runs June 15 through September 30. After a major storm — like Tropical Storm Lorena in September 2025 — the demand for same-day emergency delivery spikes fast. If you can call us before the storm hits, you get the best rate. Post-storm emergency deliveries are still available but may carry a rush premium depending on availability.

Cost Comparison

Is It Cheaper to Rent a Dumpster or Use the City of Yuma Bulky Pickup?

This is one of the most common questions we get, and most companies avoid answering it directly. We will do the math for you.

City of Yuma Bulky Item Pickup:

  • First 3 cubic yards: $47.22
  • Each additional cubic yard: $15.73

A standard single-car garage cleanout typically produces 6 to 10 cubic yards of debris. Here is what the city charges for that:

Debris VolumeCity Cost
3 cubic yards$47.22
6 cubic yards$94.41
9 cubic yards$141.60
12 cubic yards$188.79

A 10-yard dumpster rental from us runs $275–$350. At first glance, the city looks cheaper for small loads. But there are real differences that matter:

Schedule

The city picks up on their schedule. You get one collection window. A dumpster stays on your property for 7 days — you load it when you are ready.

Volume

The city’s per-yard pricing adds up fast. Anything over 7 cubic yards and a dumpster rental is often cheaper.

Convenience

One call, one delivery, one pickup. No coordinating with the city schedule.

Larger projects

For anything bigger than a bedroom cleanout, a dumpster wins on both cost and convenience.

Bottom line: For very small one-time loads (3–5 cubic yards), city pickup can be cheaper. For any project bigger than that — a garage, a roof, a remodel, a whole-house cleanout — a dumpster rental is usually the better deal.

How We Price

How We Price Your Rental — The Simple Version

Pricing a dumpster rental in Yuma involves four things:

01

Container size

bigger container, higher base price. Simple.

02

Debris type

standard household debris stays within the base price. Heavy materials (caliche, shingles, concrete) may need a different container size or the lowboy.

03

Delivery location

core Yuma and Fortuna Foothills are our primary service zone. Wellton and Winterhaven deliveries are next-day and may carry a small mileage adjustment.

04

Rental duration

base price includes 7 days. Extra days are flat-rated at $25–$40 per day.

That is the whole pricing structure. No mystery. Call us with your address and project type and we give you one number in under five minutes.

How to Keep Your Rental Cost Down

A few things that genuinely help:

Tell us what you are throwing out before you book.

The biggest source of unexpected charges is ordering a size that does not match the debris type. A quick five-minute call before you order saves a lot of trouble. We ask the right questions.

Do not mix heavy and light debris in the same container.

If you have caliche or concrete and also household junk, consider whether the heavy material alone needs the lowboy while the junk goes in a standard container. We can help you figure this out.

Have the Freon removed from appliances before the container arrives.

If you have old AC units or refrigerators, get the Freon handled by an HVAC tech first. It avoids a delay, a rejected load, and additional charges.

Clear the delivery path before we arrive.

A trip fee is 100% avoidable. Move vehicles, open the gate, trim any low branches. We confirm clearance requirements when you book.

Book ahead when you can.

Post-monsoon and PCS season (June–August) are our busiest periods. Same-day is usually available, but booking a day ahead guarantees your window.

FAQ

Pricing Questions — Answered Straight

A 10-yard roll-off in Yuma runs $275–$350. A 20-yard is $350–$450. A 30-yard runs $425–$550. A 40-yard is $500–$650. These flat rates cover delivery, your 7-day rental, pickup, and disposal up to the included weight limit. Call (928) 268-6454 for an exact price based on your specific project and address.

For very small loads (3–5 cubic yards), city pickup at $47.22 for the first 3 yards can be cheaper. For anything larger — a full garage, a roof tear-off, a remodel, an estate cleanout — a dumpster rental usually costs the same or less and gives you a full week to work at your own pace instead of one scheduled collection.

Weight overages ($45–$85/ton over the included limit), extra days ($25–$40/day), mattress disposal ($35 each), and a trip fee if delivery cannot be completed. Every one of these is explained before you book. Nothing appears on your invoice that we did not tell you about upfront.

The landfill rate is the same per ton regardless of material. The issue is that caliche and DG are very heavy — they hit weight limits fast in a standard container. We recommend the lowboy for these materials. It handles up to 10,000 lbs and avoids overage charges entirely.

Yes. Military families at MCAS Yuma and Yuma Proving Ground receive a discount on every rental. Senior discounts are available too. Mention it when you call or text — it is applied to your quote. No documentation required, your word is good enough.

A few reasons: different container size, different delivery distance (Wellton vs. Yuma core), different debris type requiring the lowboy, or weight overages from heavy material. Pricing is not arbitrary — every variable is explainable. If your quote seems higher than expected, ask us to walk through it. We will.

Tell us exactly what you are throwing out before you book, especially if it includes caliche, concrete, shingles, or DG. We match you to the right container and right weight limit so overages do not happen. If you are mid-project and the container is getting heavy, call us — we can swap it out before you hit the limit.
